Why is Elta MD sunscreen so expensive?
“Is it expensive? Yes. But is it worth it? Yes yes and YES. I suffer from acne scars due to not putting on sunscreen, and now I’m trying to heal my acne scars as fast as possible. This sunscreen has helped speed up my recovery! It really helped clear 50% of my hyperpigmentation, and I’ve only been using this for a few months. I’m sure with a fee more months, my acne scars will fade hopefully.
The fact that this sunscreen has niacinamide and zinc oxide alone is worth it to me. Not a lot of sunscreens have these. Also, my skin is pretty sensitive yet it didnt react negatively to this sunscreen. I recommend it for people who are like me trying to recover from acne scars and hyperpigmentation. “This is my second time purchasing this product and it has not disappointed. I have dry, acne prone skin and have reactions to chemical sunscreens. I usually apply a thin layer of Differin Restorative Night Moisturizer before applying this, since this product isn’t very moisturizing and can pill if you have dry skin. This product does not break me out. I was previously using Cerave Facial Moisturizing lotion with SPF 30, and that product tends to pill a lot. This product goes on more smoothly and looks way better on the skin than Cerave. It is very pricey but for me, it is worth it. Be aware that if you use a mask after applying this product it will probably pill a bit, but the pilling is manageable and I am able to brush it away.”

“Seriously recommend this sunscreen to anybody who has sensitive skin. I bought after seeing Hailey Bieber use it. I got tempted but overall I would recommend this to anybody. It is a little bit expensive for face sunscreen but it last worth it money. I have used The tinted moisturizer as well and works just as great. But overall I do like just a plain sunscreen that I can put on my day today I have noticed also that my skin is clearer after putting on the sunscreen which is a surprise to me because I thought it was going to clog my pores. Can I use EltaMD sunscreen everyday?
“This is the first sunscreen I’ve actually liked. I am particular about them, I don’t like the smell or feel of sunscreen and I hate when it clumps off throughout the day when you reapply it. This product is by far my favorite, no smell, no white streaks, doesn’t clump after reapplying or feel like you’re wearing it at all. I usually don’t wear makeup so I wear it as it. I did try it under makeup yesterday and it goes great, no clumping under a full face of makeup. Absolutely love it for everyday use!”

“Compared to Korean sunscreens that I got used to, like skin aqua, benton, and isntree, this one is hard to blend, leaves a white cast on my light-medium skin, and pills like crazy. Just to find some use for it I only put around my eyes because that’s where chemical sunscreens usually are problematic and mineral ones like this are okay.”

Can I use EltaMD sunscreen on acne?
“I have super sensitive skin and could never wear sunscreen on my face without waking up the next day with pimples. I tried this sunscreen hoping since it was geared towards acne prone skin hoping it would do the trick… My hopes were low as I have tried many other “acne prone” sunscreens and they all failed. I was skeptical trying this but applied it after my morning skin care routine. First off, let me start my saying it make your skin look amazing. It gives your skin this beautiful glow that looks like it comes from within. It has no scent which is great and is very light but also moisturizing as well. It doesn’t leave your face feeling tacky/sticky and honestly feels like you have nothing on after rubbing it in. I’m not one to normally write reviews but this definitely deserves a good one! its beautiful by itself and also under makeup! If you’re on the fence about it like I was, just go ahead and buy it! you wont regret it.”

Can you put makeup over EltaMD sunscreen?
“My dermatologist recommended this facial sunscreen. All others I’ve tried were gummy and white, and did not do well with makeup. The EltaMD 46 sunscreen goes on with a lovely smooth texture, and no white sheen. Because I also use Tretinoin, which makes my skin dry, I put moisturizer (cerave) over the sunscreen.

Does EltaMD leave a white cast?

Consistency – Easy to spread, however if you keep blending, it pills. I may have to try the UV clear spf 40 as one of the reviewers has mentioned.
White cast – There is a very mild white cast on my brown skin (due to the zinc) but it is not as noticeable as that of mineral sunscreens.
Fragrance – I am not sure if its fragrance free completely but I get a tiny bit of nice scent 🙂
I have acne prone skin, but this hasn’t caused any break outs for me.
Overall it is a good sunscreen except the high cost part.

I have had issues in the past with sunscreens breaking me out and with Elta MD I have no worries. I have been using it for about a month now per my aesthetician. I have noticed I did go through a purge but that wasn’t the only new product I was testing so it could have been a combination of the two. Now after using it a month I have noticed my skin is more hydrated (it does give you a glow) honestly some days I will just put this on and go out the door, it gives you a dewy look. Also, it goes on white but turns clear as you rub it in. I have not seen any white cast after using it. Honestly, it’s so amazing you don’t even need a primer before makeup, I use one but some days I skip it and there is not much of a difference. This product is worth it and I will cont. to buy it. It also has no smell and the pump on it works amazing and pumps out so smoothly. 10/10″
